Historical Society Booth & Button Raffle Announcement

2018 Dan Patch Days Button Raffle

With the sale of the Dan Patch Days button and the first clue for the Horseshoe Hunt, 2017 Buttonresidents know that Dan Patch Days is approaching!  Collector buttons are sold for $5 at the Savage Public Library,  Savage City Hall, and any Dan Patch Historical Society Board Member.  The first button was sold in 1953 and the entire collection is on display at the museum at the library. A button is mandatory to participate in the horseshoe hunt.  The horseshoe hunt started 20 years ago as a means to spark some interest in the history of the city.    Clues appear on the Dan Patch Historical Society website, www.danpatch.com, and the Savage Pacer, five weeks before the event to find the hidden horseshoe located on public property.  The finder receives $100 and an opportunity to ride in the grand parade.  The button and the hunt are sponsored by the Dan Patch Historical Society with the clue master being one of its members.

The Dan Patch Days button raffle winners will be announced on the Main Stage at time TBD on Saturday, June 23.  The grand prize is a coat rack made from the original wood and nails from the Savage Depot. Second prize is a full-color Savage historical blanket valued at $50.

Visit the Dan Patch Historical Society booth on Saturday, June 23rd, at Dan Patch Days from 3-7pm.
